A collaboration between Buntu Fihla, Kwanele Mboso and Mak1one.

Two Thousand and Ten Reasons to Live in a Small Town (Dlala Indima) was a public art project facilitated by VANSA and funded by the National Lottery Distribution Trust Fund. The project aimed to create opportunities for the insertion of contemporary art practice and thinking into new contexts and environments, reaching new audiences in new ways.

The project enabled artists to develop their own practice and the impact of this practice outside of major urban centres and outside of the traditional context of the gallery space.


The project was realised between October 2010 and March 2011, and was documented in a publication (ISBN 978-0-620-55215-8) and exhibition:
